Since its creation in 2011 by a group of passionate and enlightened opera lovers, Opera Online has been a trilingual publication (in French, English and German) driven by one ambition: to make people love opera by raising awareness of the art of opera, helping them to understand it and sharing experiences, for newcomers and connoisseurs alike.

With more than 1.4 million unique visitors in 2023, Opera Online is an independent publication based around its Encyclopera, an encyclopaedia of opera with more than 30,000 entries: repertory works and contemporary operas, composers and librettists, opera houses, productions and artists of international renown or young talents to watch. Opera Online follows the latest opera news and publishes reviews of performances.
