The director Marie-Ève Signeyrole makes her debut at the Lyon Opera. Known throughout Europe for her scalpel readings of power relations, she tackles this opera from the angle of an initiatory story and dissects before our eyes the workings of the romantic relationship. What could be more violent than publicly realizing that love is not unconditional?
