When a wealthy hotel owner gathers his friends and family to celebrate his 60th birthday, his children must confront the pain of their past—and the man responsible.

Decorum descends into chaos in this powerful new opera about trauma and complicity. Acclaimed contemporary composer Mark-Anthony Turnage (Anna Nicole, Coraline) and librettist Lee Hall (Billy Elliott) team up with director Richard Jones to adapt the 1998 film by Oscar-winning filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg (The Hunt, Another Round). An international cast led by Edward Gardner and led by Allan Clayton, Stéphane Degout, Gerald Finley and Eva-Maria Westbroek bring this operatic world premiere to life.
