"Never before heard on French stages, the musical comedy Gypsy, based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, is presented in a version developed by one of the greats of musical direction, Laurent Pelly.

A regular collaborator with the national operas of Paris and Lyon, the director has set his sights on a work considered a masterpiece of musical comedy in the United States, Gypsy. Inspired by the autobiographical novel by Gypsy Rose Lee, a stripper who became famous during the 1930s, it tells the sad story of a mother consumed by a desire for fame that leads her to push her two daughters into the spotlight. But they have their own ambitions... Jule Styne, Arthur Laurents and Steven Sondheim create a work of intensely jazzy color and bittersweet atmosphere that bears witness to the end of an era."
