"The company Maurice et les autres moves the action outdoors and adapts this masterpiece for a traveling instrumentarium. The company and director Jeanne Desoubeaux take the opera out of its setting: the story of Carmen unfolds before our eyes, we are even actors. A traveling opera, each act takes place in a different place on the site of the Hardelot castle. The lyrical voices are accompanied by an orchestra which takes us from the festive atmosphere of the Lillas tavern. Pastia to the scene of the drama, from the celebration to the tragedy, we emerge overwhelmed by this universal story".
