Cast changes: Marlis Petersen, initially announced for the role of La Maréchale in this new production of Le Chevalier à la rose, has finally been replaced by Véronique Gens, who is taking up her first role in Strauss's opera. Marina Viotti was also due to perform the role of Octavian for the first time, but had to withdraw for personal reasons. She was replaced in turn by the Irish mezzo Niamh O'Sullivan (also in a role debut).
