Description
Having already staged Parsifal at the Vienna State Opera in 2021, Kirill Serebrennikov returns this time to direct Verdi's Don Carlo - a work which, for him, ‘speaks more than any other opera of power as the antithesis of freedom and all that power provokes: oppression, violence, imprisonment, murder’. The production's conductor is Philippe Jordan.
The production will be recorded on video and broadcast live on television on Arte on Sunday 29 September 2024 from 11.10pm, and online on Arte Concert.
