Every year in May, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florentine Musical May) welcomes the public to the Teatro del Maggio in Florence, Tuscany, for an opera festival. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the containment measures in Italy, the 2020 edition cannot be held normally. But a "Home Concert" broadcast online on May 1, 2020 is planned by the company’s sovrintendente Alexander Pereira, and showcase some of today's greatest opera performers: Cecilia Bartoli, Vittorio Grigolo, Mikhail Petrenko, Diana Damrau, Ludovic Tézier, Francesco Meli, Lisette Oropesa, Luca Salsi, Thomas Hampson, Krassimira Stoyanova, Michele Pertusi, Eva Mei, Leo Nucci, Sonya Yoncheva, Fabio Sartori, Anna Pirozzi et Saioa Hernández.
