"At the origin of this opera, there are miracles, these events that defy science: the big ones as well as the small ones that – however tiny they may be – can change the course of a life. Where have these miracles, so frequent in the Middle Ages, gone in our rationalized world? Have they deserted, taking with them the hope that “everything can change”? Samuel Achache and his band refuse to believe that magic is dead: they are convinced that the impossible and the unthinkable can arise at any time, including in the banality of everyday life: in the street, in a bar, in the hospital, in the motel or in the lobby of a train station… For a year, they collected the ordinary and extraordinary stories of Nancy residents from all walks of life. A journey that took them to Italy, to Naples, known as the city of miracles."
