The great Berliozian conductor John Eliot Gardiner conducts his Orchester Révolutionnaire et Romantique and the Monteverdi Choir in this fetish work, bringing it to incandescence in the historic setting (1837) of the Royal Opera that Berlioz knew: let us open the doors of history!
Concert given in the “Marble Palace enhanced with gold”, decor designed by Cicéri in which Berlioz himself conducted a concert at the Opéra Royal on Sunday 29 October 1848.
