"The Faggots and Their Friends Between Revolutions by Larry Mitchell is a cult work published in 1977, which has become impossible to find and then reissued on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Stonewall riots because of its persistent topicality. A fantastic parable with the value of a political manifesto, a vision radical view of the evolution of the world from a queer point of view: Faggots draws a revolutionary counter-utopia for all the oppressed, running counter to a breathless patriarchal model. with a joyful madness, Philip Venables and Ted Huffman draw for their new collaboration – after 4.48 Psychose (2016) and Denis et Katya (2019) – a patchwork that is at once playful, wacky and profound, between opera and cabaret revue. Very much in demand, the fifteen performers are in turn singers, actors and instrumentalists. And remind us that, yes, pleasure is on the side of good".
