Description

Created in December 2011 (read our presentation in English), this production of Turandot signed La Fura dels Baus by Carlus Padrissa transposes the opera of Giacomo Puccini in 2046: China is the first world power and holds Europe (that she saved from the economic crisis) under her rule. Turandot, tyrannical princess of a dominating China, exercises authoritarian power over a submissive people. However, Carlus Padrissa does not exclude all hope: salvation will come from the sacrifice of Liu, Calaf's loving slave.

Production already resumed, as in 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2020.
