"The director Dmitri Tcherniakov places the myth of Carmen in an original setting, thus transforming the opera into a therapeutic experience for today's emotionally exhausted men and women. Very quickly, the simple role play turns into an uncontrollable mechanism in which a man, devoured by passion, can no longer extract himself from his character. After a remarkable debut at La Monnaie in The Queen of Spades (2022), conductor Nathalie Stutzmann will conduct this score for the first time, with at least equal passion."
