Description

Co-produced by the Opéra national de Paris and the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
A revival of La Forza del destino directed by Jean-Claude Auvray, first performed at the Opéra Bastille in November 2011 (read our review of the show published at the time), then at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in 2012. The production will be revived at the Paris Opera in 2019 and 2022.

Cast change: this revival of the production in November 2024 at the Gran Teatre del Liceu was to be the occasion for Maria Agresta to take the role of Donna Leonora. A month before the premiere, however, the soprano announced that she would be withdrawing from the production, as she did not feel ready to take on a role that was known to be very demanding. She was replaced by Anna Pirozzi.
